Sex addiction has been a hot topic in the news these past couple years -- so it was only a matter of time before it worked its way into a romantic comedy. In Thanks for Sharing, Gwyneth Paltrow is the woman who unknowingly falls for a recovering sex addict played by Mark Ruffalo. Other members of Ruffalo's recovery group include Pink, making her feature film debut, and 1600 Penn's Josh Gad. Watch the trailer below!
Let's break this down, shall we? Here are a few things that jumped out at us in the Thanks for Sharing trailer.
Mark Ruffalo is cute and attractive in any context. As the Incredible Hulk? Adorable. As a sex addict? Irresistible. Like Paul Rudd, Ruffalo could pretty much turn any character into somebody we'd want to date.
Gwyneth Paltrow can't resist showing off that hard-earned body. And obviously, producers couldn't resist putting her sexy lingerie scene into the trailer.
Fortunately, Ruffalo also shows a lot of skin. Is he naked at 1:51? Can somebody get a high-res version up in here?
Josh Gad is also adorable, in his own way. And he just made us feel sympathy for a guy who molests women on the subway. That's no easy feat.
Pink can act, y'all! It makes sense; her music videos are usually pretty dramatic and character-driven. Still, we're pleasantly surprised at how funny she is here. ("I've never been just friends with a guy before. It's so... hot.")
One more thing worth noting: This is actually one of two sex-addiction-themed romantic comedies that premiered at film festivals this year. The other, Don Jon, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (also making his directorial debut) and Scarlett Johansson. Check out that trailer below -- it's got a very different feel (and more Jersey acccents). Both films hit theaters this fall.
