3. The Eyes Have It

The thinnest skin on your body is above your eyes, which means they’re often first to become red and swollen when skin becomes dry and irritated. They’re tricky to treat because products that are safe for skin in other areas may not be safe in the eye area. Pampering tip: Look for products that are fragrance-free, hypoallergenic and/or made for sensitive skin. “A good rule-of-thumb is to look for products that contain less than 10 ingredients,” says Dr. Badreshia-Bansal. “Rather than soap, opt for cleansing creams or lotions formulated to be safe in the eye area, or remove eye makeup with a cotton ball and a little bit of baby oil. Apply petroleum jelly at bedtime to keep eyelids moist.”
