Remember those adventuresome, pre-kid days of driving for eight or 10 hours with barely a bathroom break? Well, those days are gone. You won’t be able to cover as much ground as fast as you did when driving cross-country after college, so set realistic goals. “If you don’t have a good sense of how well your kids travel by car, ask yourself, ‘How long are they content to sit in the stroller?’” says Rivoli. “It really comes down to your baby’s temperament.”
