Blast from the past! While the Olsen sisters have been busy partying and playing fashionista, those other famous TV twins we all grew up watching -- Tia and Tamera Mowry -- have steadily been putting noses to the grindstone, as both actors and producers. This Sunday, you can catch the Mowry sisters, now 31, costarring in the original TV movie Double Wedding.
Airing on the Lifetime Movie Network on Sunday (8 p.m. ET), Double Wedding (on which both are credited as executive producers) is about not-so-identical twins who inadvertantly begin dating the same man -- who, naturally, thinks they’re the same woman.
On the question of whether they've ever been attracted to the same man, Tia recently told Parade, "Our tastes in men are like night and day!" And as for her sister, she adds, "It takes me a while to like her boyfriends. We don't have the same tastes at all, which is a good thing."
The siblings, who got their big break in 1994 starring on the long-lost-twin sitcom Sister, Sister (a series which ran for a solid five years), have certainly been making an effort to carve out individual identities in Hollywood.
Tia Mowry (pictured on the right in our photo) is the self-proclaimed businesswoman of the two; she's been workin’ it, portraying med-student-turned-football-star-girlfriend Melanie on The Game -- a nearly canceled CW sitcom which found new life on BET for its fourth season.
More down-to-earth Tamera Mowry, meanwhile, scored steady gigs on Lifetime’s Strong Medicine and the short-lived Roommates, which aired on ABC Family last year.
Now that the actresses have established themselves separately, the twins are hoping to team up for more producing and acting gigs together, and according to Tia, they're in talks to star on a new show for the Style Network. As for their movie this weekend, you have to hand it to them -- women viewers can't get enough wedding-themed programming, and their latest venture certainly sounds like a double dose. Here come the brides!
