As if Elin Nordegren needed any more bad news this year: adult film actress Devon James, who claimed in March that she had a two-and-a-half-year affair with Tiger Woods, is now saying that Woods is her son's father. James, 29, is the mother of a 9-year-old boy, Austin, and according to RadarOnline, the child "bears a striking resemblance to the world's No. 1 golfer."
James gave birth in 2001, but says she didn't tell Tiger he was the father until a chance meeting in 2006. Radar's source says James is "insistent" that Woods, 34, is the father, although the golfer hasn't taken a paternity test.
James' story corresponds with The Sun's recent report that Woods was the father of a secret love child. However, most media outlets assumed that the baby in question belongs to "cougar" mistress Theresa Rogers, 48 -- who may have conceived her 5-year-old daughter while dating Woods and was allegedly paid off for her silence about the affair.
So, is escort Devon James -- who made her recent declaration from the set of her new porn film (classy!) -- actually the mother of Tiger Woods' child? Or is she broadcasting her tale as an opportunity to get attention (and maybe a payout)?
One person who definitely thinks James is lying: Her own mother. Sandra Brinling told E! News on Tuesday that James is a pathological liar who hatched the love-child scheme with her current husband. "All she is looking for is to get money from [Tiger]" said Brinling, who claims that 9-year-old Austin's real father is an ex-con. Furthermore, she says her daughter never even met Woods. Granted, James' mom has an axe to grind, as she's reportedly raising James' three children for her without child support. But James was one of the last alleged Tiger Woods mistresses to go public, and now her timing is suspicious once again. Given her career as an escort and professional naked person, James could definitely benefit from the notoriety (and the cash). But until Woods takes a Maury Povich-style paternity test, can we really rule it out?
