War of Words: Tim Gunn Calls Taylor Momsen "Pathetic"

The Project Runway style guru isn't hiding his harsh opinions about the teen Gossip Girl star -- and several other celebs!

It seems like Taylor Momsen didn't "make it work" for Tim Gunn! The Project Runway guru shared some choice words about the rocker and Gossip Girl actress -- and they certainly weren't signed with an "XOXO."

During an interview with E! News, Gunn, 57, talks about his experience filming an upcoming cameo on Gossip Girl. During his time working with the 17-year-old star, he found her to be a pretty "sad" person. (But don't fret GG fans: He said the rest of the cast, Penn Badgley especially, was a "delight"!)

But when it comes to the rebellious teen star, Gunn didn't mince his words. "What a diva! She was pathetic, she couldn't remember her lines, and she didn't even have that many," he said. "I thought to myself, 'Why are we all being held hostage by this brat?'"

It seems Gunn wasn't the only one put off by Momsen's antics, which included holding up filming and incessant chatting on her Blackberry. "At one point the director leaned in and whispered to me, 'This is day in, day out, my life,'" he said. "She annoyed the entire crew."

Gunn, who's mastered doling out advice for Project Runway contestants, also shared some words of wisdom for Momsen. "I'd say, 'You know young lady, there are hundreds of thousands of girls who are just as attractive and even smarter than you. Why are you acting like this show is a huge burden on you?'" he said. "She was on her phone during every break, I wanted to tell her, 'If you weren't on your BlackBerry, you (could) retain this stuff.'''

But it seems Momsen wasn't the only one to experience the wrath of Gunn. He called the universally disliked (just ask Whoopi Goldberg!) White House gatecrashers and The Real Housewives of DC stars Tareq Salahi and Michaele Salahi "sociopaths" who "believe their own lies."

He also had a pretty biting critique of Danielle Staub and Teresa Giudice and their Real Housewives of New Jersey brawl. "It's like we've gone back to ancient Rome," Gunn griped. "We've gone back to the Colosseum where we watch people rip each other limb to limb. I want a DNA test -- how far are these women from wild animals? What do they take from this behavior? My advice is to take the high road. You'll never regret it. I've been pushed, but I discipline myself and an hour later I'm so grateful."

But, Gunn's most notable battle right now has to be with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. In his new book, Gunn's Golden Rules: Life's Little Lessons for Making It Work, he reveals a rather juicy diva tale about the notorious fashion ringleader: He writes that Wintour was carried down five flights of stairs so that she didn't have to walk in heels!)

The revelation left the notoriously chilly Wintour none-too-pleased with Gunn. (In his words, she went "ballistic.") But, it's no thorn in Gunn's side. "I had friends and colleagues say, 'You’ll never be invited to a dinner party again,'" he told WWD. "My response was ‘Hallelujah!'"
