Katy Perry might want to see Tim Tebow's "peacock," but the Denver Broncos quarterback says he's keeping his, um, feathers to himself.
The 24-year-old NFL hunk shot down the rumors that he and the 27-year-old "Firework" singer are an item on Monday during to Los Angeles, where he met with 100 children at the Challengers Boys & Girls Club to promote reading and talk about his childhood struggle with dyslexia. But according to E! Online, things took an amusing turn when one young fan pointedly asked Tebow whether he "has a thing" with Perry. (Thank you for doing our job for us, future gossip journalist!)
Tebow laughed off the question and assured the little ones that he is not involved in a relationship with Perry. And why would he lie to kids?
Rumors of the pop singer and football star's involvement have swirled since her parents reportedly suggested the duo get together in early January, shortly after Perry's hubby Russell Brand filed for divorce on Dec. 30.
Perry added fuel to the fire when she made some suggestive comments to Tebow over Super Bowl weekend. She first gave him a shoutout by saying, "Hey Tim, my parents say hi," when she presented an award at the NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 4. Later that night, she dedicated her risque song "Peacock" to the hunky quarterback.
Not for anything, Tim, but it is Valentine's Day -- so maybe it's time to return those romantic overtures? If not for us or for yourself, do it for the kids!
