Rapper/producer Timbaland is not about to take his own life.
Recent reports said that the 39-year-old music man was so distraught after getting his $2 million watch stolen that he wanted to harm himself. But Timbaland denied the claims to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show on Wednesday afternoon. "I don't know what people are talking about," he said. "Why would I commit suicide?"
Timbaland did admit that "something did happen," confirming that he was robbed. "It wasn't a watch (that was stolen). It was something else." he said. "I took a drive to figure out how I'm going to handle it."
Speculation of his well-being began when somebody close to him reportedly called the authorities because Timbaland couldn't be reached and "people got worried." Police said that his wife, mother-in-law and friends were unable to find him and were under the impression he had taken some medication before hopping into his Cadillac Escalade and speeding off.
When police tracked him down on the Pacific Coast Highway, Timbaland assured the officers that he was fine and had no intention of harming himself.
"I snapped," he told Seacrest. "I was like, 'Who would report something like that?'"
Need more proof that Timbaland has plenty of plans for his future? He returned to work later that afternoon and recorded a new tune with Keri Hilson.
"I don't know a person who would (try to) commit suicide (and then) be at the studio."
