The reasons to love Tina Fey are almost as numerous as her Emmys (now at seven): She's hilarious, she's smart, she runs her own show. But she's also a doting mother who prefers working motherhood to yoga trendiness.
In the cover story of the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, Tina describes her typical day as: "Work, come home, play, kid bounce, work again, go to bed."
Yep, she's a busy lady. So busy, in fact, that her most concentrated writing sometimes happens in her car on the way to the 30 Rock studio each morning (the show's season premiere is on Thursday, Oct. 15).
As so many women know, there are perils to trying to juggle so much. She misses her 4-year-old daughter, Alice, a lot; her husband does a lot of the childcare. Which is both good and bad.
"Last weekend," Tina told Bazaar. "She started chanting, 'Daddy is my mom! Daddy is my mom!'"
At 39, she has a ton of accolades and accomplishments to her name. Many of which came all at once.
While finishing her tenure at Saturday Night Live in 2006, she told herself: "I'll just throw everything out there. I'll try to get pregnant, try to write a movie [Mean Girls], and try to do this development deal [30 Rock]." All of which ended up working out.
But speaking of working out, that's one thing that she doesn't do much of. Fitness does not come first. In fact, it comes very last.
"I'll do grave yoga. Someone can come and stretch me in my grave."
