Celebrities may come and go, but one thing will never change: our love for Tina Fey. We loved her when she was hosting Weekend Update and joking about "mom jeans" on SNL. We loved her script for Mean Girls so much that we're still trying to make "fetch" happen. We loved her as Liz Lemon on 30 Rock (find out why!), and we loved her Emmy-winning Sarah Palin impression. She also wrote a great book, made some fantastic movies and -- well, we could be here all day. Guess the big question is: Now that Tina Fey has accomplished all these amazing things, what's next?
In celebration of Tina's 43rd birthday, we're not only remembering all the great stuff she's done; we're anticipating the great stuff yet to come. Here are 5 things we really hope to see this amazing lady do in the coming year!
1. Host the Oscars
The 2013 Golden Globes, hosted by Fey and best friend Amy Poehler, were more fun than any awards show we'd seen in years. Any chance she could bring the funny back to the Oscars this year? Tina has said she's not interested, but maybe Amy could twist her arm. If not, we'd settle for another hilarious Golden Globes gig.
2. Launch a TV series
She's been taking a much-deserved break since 30 Rock ended, but we're hoping she returns to television before too long. She ushered in the golden age of smart, woman-centric comedies, and it would be a shame if she couldn't reap the rewards.
3. Make a hit movie
A lot of Fey's films, particularly Mean Girls and Date Night, have done well, but she's still not a blockbuster comedy star. Where is Tina Fey's Bridesmaids?
4. Write a sequel to Bossypants
Quotes from Fey's autobiographical comedy book are still popping up on Facebook, which just goes to show you: the people want more. Two years is enough time to gather a new book's worth of material, right?
5. Beat up Kanye West and Sacha Baron Cohen
We only mention this because it's definitely happening! Fey recently shot some scenes for Anchorman 2, in which she and Poehler get into a brawl with 'Ye and Borat. Our money's on Team LemonKnope!
Also in the coming year, Fey is going to make an appearance in the Muppets sequel, produce a new feature comedy, and maybe get the Mean Girls musical off the ground. So even if she doesn't take all of our recommendations, 43 will be a great year for Tina Fey.
Seriously though, Tina, the new TV show: Will you at least consider it?
