Tina Fey's Scar Trauma

Tina Fey knows she typically has to be photographed from the right side. Unlike Barbra Streisand, Tina has a reason -- to hide a scar that lines the left side of her face.
After staying quiet about the origin of the scar for years, Tina and her husband, Jeff Richmond, recently disclosed the story to Vanity Fair.
When the 30 Rock star was five, a stranger approached her and cut her cheek. "It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen," Jeff said. While her hubby is more open about it, saying the scar fascinated him, Tina still doesn't like to talk about it.
"It's impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it," she said. And she never felt less attractive because of the scar, as she barely noticed it when she was young. "I was a very confident little kid. It's really almost like I'm kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of 'Oh, I guess we should use this side' or whatever. Everybody's got a better side."
And that's why -- scar or no scar -- we love Tina.
