Electronic filers remember to print, sign and mail the signature page. Without original signatures from all parties, an aid application cannot be processed.
No matter how you file, be sure to keep a copy of the completed form for yourself. Do not just click and hope it gets there! Remember that everywhere the form asks for information about "you," it really means "the student." Take particular care to enter your child's social security number correctly -- otherwise there is no telling how long you will be stuck in FAFSA Hell.
In Section H, be sure to correctly enter the Title IV codes for each college that you wish to receive an aid report. These codes are available from your child's guidance counselor or the colleges' publications.
Remember that all the information you submit on the FAFSA is subject to verification against completed 1997 tax forms. If discrepancies are found, your aid application may be delayed.
