Big news on the Jon & Kate Plus 8 front -- or should we say the Kate Plus 8 front. In a surprising news release on Tuesday, TLC announced that it will be rebranding and relaunching its biggest hit without the participation of Jon Gosselin.
Kate Plus 8 will debut on Monday Nov. 2 and will "continue to capture the incredible lives of the eight Gosselin children and their family but will now include a deeper focus on Kate’s role in the family and her journey as a single mother building the next chapter in her life."
Perhaps this is a wise move for the ailing show, as ratings have continued to fall since the couple announced their split in June 2009.
What's going to be Jon Gosselin's role in the show? TLC says it will "continue its exclusive relationship with Jon Gosselin and he will continue to appear on the show, but on a less regular basis." We guess that squashes any rumors about a Divorced Dad's Club spinoff.
So, what about all this news about Kate Gosselin getting her own TV show? The network says they are in development on a project with Kate for 2010.
