Tom Cruise: Suri Was "Taken Aback" When She Saw Me in Eyeliner

The actor says his 6-year-old daughter didn't know what to make of her dad dressed up like an '80s rock star for Rock of Ages

Apparently, Tom Cruise hasn't spent a lot of time playing dress-up with his daughter Suri! In an interview on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM show, Cruise recalled the first time his 6-year-old daughter visited him on the set of Rock of Ages. According to Cruise, Suri was pretty freaked out to see her daddy all dolled up as a rock star!

"When I had the eyeliner on and the painted nails, she was a little taken aback by that. She was like, 'What is happening to my daddy?'" Cruise, 49, told Seacrest with a laugh.

Cruise, who plays fictional '80s rock star Stacee Jaxx in the film, said that Suri "really liked the singing" when she visited the set. Even so, he admitted that his projects tend to be less child-friendly than those of his wife, Katie Holmes.

"I joke with friends because she goes to Kate's set and there's hair and makeup, and it's a very nice set," Cruise said. "Then Suri comes to my sets and she's got to wear a hard helmet, there's explosions going off, Dad's all bloody and he's bruised!"

Suri got a kick out of visiting her dad at work, but it was Katie who got to take home a very special piece of the movie. At the Hollywood Rock of Ages premiere, Cruise told E! News that he couldn't part with one of Stacee Jaxx's accessories: a jeweled codpiece shaped like a dragon!

"I wear it and I keep it," Cruise boasted. "(Katie) laughed. It's hilarious."

During the Seacrest interview, the actor also took a moment to brag about another member of his family: Connor Cruise, his 17-year-old son (with ex-wife Nicole Kidman), who is working professionally as a DJ.

"He's very dedicated. He’s just so focused on his music right now, and it's great to see," Cruise gushed. "He works very hard when he wants to do something, he's very dedicated to it. Whatever it is." Sounds like someone else we know.
