Two days after his wife, Eva Longoria, filed for divorce in Los Angeles, it was Tony Parker's turn to do the same in Texas.
While Longoria stated "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, Parker went a different route. According to TMZ.com, Parker's petition stated: "The marriage insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationships and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."
"This was not meant to escalate things," a source told People.com, of Parker's actions. "He filed his own papers to protect his rights during the proceeding…They are still committed to working this out together amicably."
News of the split between the Desperate Housewives actress and the San Antonio Spurs player broke last week, amongst rumors that Parker had an inappropriate relationship with the wife of a former teammate. Sources say Longoria flipped when she found out that her husband of three years had exchanged hundreds of texts with Erin Barry. Though it's unclear whether Barry (whose own marriage has come to an end) and Parker had an actual physical relationship, it doesn't seem to matter to Longoria either way.
