“I prefer the KitchenAid stand mixer’s pasta-making attachments over pasta machines, which take up a lot of space and really aren’t practical for the home cook,” says Iron Chef Michael Symon, the author of the cookbook Live to Cook and chef-owner of Lola and Lolita restaurants in Cleveland. “It makes terrifically thin pasta, and there’s every kind of cut you would ever need, from pappardelle to linguine. Plus, a lot of people already have KitchenAid mixers at home. I use the machine a lot myself, in fact; we even use it on Iron Chef.”
