They say everything's bigger in Texas, so the next season of Top Chef should be full of surprises. The Bravo cooking competition, which has been filming in three cities -- a season first -- will air this fall.

The contestants will duke it out in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. While the typical quickfire challenges and cook-offs are to be expected, according to a press release, "season nine will also showcase many surprising twists and turns and never-before-seen challenges and events." We also predict lots of beer drinking in the stew room.

Host Padma Lakshmi, chef Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons will all return to judges table along with the addition of culinary superstar Emeril Lagasse and Southern chef Hugh Acheson, whom you might remember from Top Chef Masters season three.

Will the cheftestants have to cook giant steaks? Chili without beans? Wear full-on cowboy regalia? We'll have to tune in and see...
