Moms spent plenty of time in 2011 buzzing about Coco Arquette, the 7-year-old daughter of Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who sported bright red lipstick one day and then, on another occasion, showed off her new highlights. Highlights? She's only 7! And then there was 5-year-old Suri Cruise, perhaps the most scrutinized celebrity child on the planet, in high heels. Nearly 20 percent of moms in our poll said they talked with their friends about these stories. To so many moms, they were examples of ways we're letting our kids grow up way too fast. Said one iVillager on Facebook, "If you start giving little kids grown up things too soon then what is there left by the time they are teens?" But others saw the furor as unwarranted, expressing sympathy for a fellow mom like Cox, who said Coco has a mind of her own. "You learn to choose your battles with your kids and things that won't hurt them or anyone else (are battles) you should let them win," said another iVillager.
