chime in nowThe U.S. women almost didn't make it to the Olympic final. In a stunning semi-final match against Canada, they won in double overtime with just seconds left, and then went on to defeat Japan 2-1 to win the gold medal on Aug. 9. The victory marks the third straight Olympic gold for the U.S. women in soccer, and avenges last year's loss to Japan in the World Cup. These women have no doubt inspired little girls all across America who are hoping they can make it to the Olympics one day. They can!
