Calling All Engines!
To create a boxy shape for the base, use Bake Even Strips, which prevent the center of the cake from rising to a dome shape. Use decorator's buttercream to create the red-and-white paint job, then smoothe it with a non-textured paper towel. Make the gauges and gadgets with a hand-painted fondant disks. Too complicated?
