In the press room of the Golden Globes Monday Night, Isaiah Washingon announced to everyone that he didn't use the gay slur "faggot" during the Grey's Anatomy on-set brouhaha last October that basically forced co-star T.R. Knight to announce that he's gay.
Why he felt compelled to bring up the entire ugly incident I'll never know, but it made Katherine Heigl so mad that she spoke out against Isaiah later in the evening. During an Access Hollywood post-Globe interview she said, "I'm going to be really honest right now: He needs to just not speak in public. Period. I'm sorry, that did not need to be said, I'm not OK with it."
Now T.R. Knight has decided to set the record straight. Today on the Ellen Show he confirms that Isaiah did call him a "faggot." When asked about the incident T.R. said
“He referred to me as a faggot, everyone heard it. And [at the Golden Globes] he denied that he said it," Knight said, “and I don’t know what to say about it but it’s pretty bad.”
