Chris Kattan and Cheri Oteri won’t be buying Tracy Morgan’s new autobiography. In I Am the New Black the 30 Rock star calls out his fellow Saturday Night Live alumni for treating him poorly on set.
"I can remember being on Saturday Night Live and feeling like I was on the bottom of the totem pole," Morgan said in an audio excerpt. "I could remember when people like Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan would probably look down upon me. I could remember those two, especially those two, people treating me like I was the invisible guy. Now look where they at. Cheri Oteri, she can't even get arrested. Where's Chris Kattan now?"
In case you’re wondering, Oteri is a voice on the Fox animated series Sit Down, Shut Up and Kattan was most recently the star of an IFC miniseries, Bollywood Hero, about a comedian’s journey to Mumbai to become a Bollywood actor.
But Morgan wasn’t done voicing his dislike for his former colleagues.
"They're never gonna host Saturday Night Live. And that's not even mean, but that's what happened to me over there," Morgan continued."“They never treated me well. There were people that treated me beautifully, like Will Ferrell and Colin Quinn and Molly Shannon. I love them. But Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan, I never cared for them either. F--k 'em."
Is this Tracy Morgan or Tracy Jordan, his character from 30 Rock, speaking?
One ex-SNL comedian Morgan still has love for is his 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey, who avoided a lashing in his book, which comes out Oct. 20.
On one hand, I’m glad Morgan spoke his mind, but maybe he should let his post-SNL success do the talking. Nobody will dispute the fact that Morgan has gone on to bigger and better things than to Oteri and Kattan.
