The centerpiece of this Brooklyn, New York-based master suite is a queen-size bed with a beige-fabric-covered headboard and a matching bed skirt, coverlet, linens and pillows. Built-in bookcases along side the bed were created to house the couple's books, their seventeenth-and eighteenth-century Dutch floral plates, and tortoiseshell tea caddies.
It was also important to add lighting; dimmers were added so the owners could adjust the mood. Other lighting fixtures included reproduction brass sconces over the fireplace, contemporary brass pharmacy lamps in the seating area, bookcase lights, adjustable brass lamps above each night table, and an Empire-style glass antique chandelier. The triple-glazed walls also added to the mood of the room.
