The Flower Bed

Floral prints are making a big, bold comeback, and these hot picks will rock your world.

The buzz started back in late 2004. Isaac Mizrahi was working on a line of home decor for Target. The discount retailer kept a tight lid on the collection (the press couldn't even get a peek) until March 2005, when Isaac Mizrahi for Target premiered ‑- to rave reviews. The 200-item line is heavy on florals, but not your grandma's dainty rose prints. Mizrahi covers bedding, decorative screens, tableware and even shower curtains in larger-than-life petals, from sunburst orange poppies and tulips to eye-pleasing purple and hot pink daisies. The designer's inspiration for this bold new home look? "About 10 years ago I did a collection with huge photoreal flower prints, and ever since then I thought that if I ever had the chance to do housewares I would resurrect the idea," Mizrahi says. "My work is often about color, and flowers are nothing but color on a stem." $9.99 to $99.99 (Poppy bedding) at Target.com.
