The Troop is a live-action series combined with CG animation that follows Jake (Nick Purcell) as he negotiates adolescence and dreaming of creating his own comic book. Unbeknownst to him, Jake scored well on a secret section embedded on a normal aptitude test and, based on his answers, he gets recruited by the school counselor (John Marshall Jones) to join a "secret society" entrusted to protect the world from supernatural beings. While acting like normal kids at school, Jake and his troop mates Hayley (Gage Golightly) and Felix (David Del Rio) spend their off-hours keeping the community safe from monsters.
