Trophoblastic disease is a growth of abnormal tissue inside the uterus during pregnancy. This abnormal tissue prevents the normal growth of a fetus.
This tissue can continue to grow after a miscarriage. In some cases, trophoblastic disease advances into uterine cancer. Trophoblastic cancer can remain in the uterus or spread to other parts of the body.
