Tropical Fruit Shakes

These tropical shakes are proof that you do not have to sacrifice taste when eating lower fat, healthy recipes. In fact, these good-for-you shakes are so rich and delicious that even your most discerning 6-year-old would never guess how healthy they are.

Mango Peach Shake
Serves 1-2

  • 1 cup diced mango
  • 1 small peach
  • 1 cup vanilla sorbet
  • 1/2 cup low fat milk

Put mango and peach in a blender and process till smooth. Add sorbet and milk and blend until ingredients are thoroughly mixed and serve.

Papaya, Pineapple and Banana Shake
Serves 1-2

The taste of this delicious shake is matched by its beautiful color.

  • 1 papaya, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple (8 ounce can, drained)
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup low fat milk

In a blender, process fruit together until smooth and then add milk. Blend until ingredients are thoroughly mixed and serve.

Pineapple, Strawberry and Apricot Shake Serves 1-2

  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple (8 ounce can, drained)
  • 1 fresh apricot, diced
  • 2/3 cup halved strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1/3 cup milk

In a blender, process fruit together until smooth, then add milk. Blend until ingredients are thoroughly mixed and serve.

Coffee Banana Shake
Serves 1

  • 1/3 cup strong coffee (chilled)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 bananas

In a blender combine coffee, milk and bananas until smooth, and serve.
