Pumping up the music can push you to work out longer and harder. A 2008 Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology study showed that certain music can prolong endurance-based exercise by 15 percent! But Beethoven isn’t your best bet for the treadmill—you want a song that has between 120 and 140 beats per minute. Try "Push It" by Salt-N-Pepa, "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg and the dance remix of "Umbrella" by Rihanna.
