WATCH: Kristen Stewart Is Badass in 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Trailer

In the final Twilight film, a newly vamped up Bella joins hubby Edward (Robert Pattinson) in defending their daughter from the Volturi

After four films where the driving force behind the plot was was the will-they-or-won't-they romantic relationship between human Bella (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson), it's nice to see the Twilight series finally upping he ante with Breaking Dawn - Part 2. As fans of the books already know -- and as everyone else learns in the teaser trailer below -- Edward and Bella's half-human, half-vampire daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) is at the center of the saga's deadliest and most epic conflict yet. Watch the trailer now!

"After 18 years of being utterly ordinary, I finally found I could shine," Bella -- newly transformed into a bloodsucker (you know, so she could survive that whole giving birth to a human-vampire hybrid baby) -- says at the outset of the trailer as we watch her flit through the woods in Forks, Wash. "I was born to be a vampire."

Unfortunately for the happy Cullen family, things don't stay peaceful for long. While Edward and Bella's werewolf BFF Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is simply impressed by the fact that Bella has managed to retain most of her human qualities, Irina (Lost's Maggie Grace) has run off to the Volturi in Italy to tell them that our favorite vegetarian vampires have created an "immortal child."

The Volturi, under the direction of a scenery-chewing Michael Sheen, decide that this just won't do, as so decide to take a little vacation Stateside to, basically, kill Renesmee. And so Bella and Edward need to convince as many of their vampire friends as they can (hi there, Lee Pace!) to join them in their fight against the Volturi.

The showdown, set in a snowy field, looks pretty epic in the trailer -- so we're crossing our fingers that director Bill Condon has made the battle a bit more enthralling than it played out in Stephenie Meyer's novel.

The final Twilight film is due out in theaters on Nov. 16.
