Bye, Bye, Betty! As ABC's Emmy-winning Ugly Betty tapes its last episodes, Michael Urie -- Mode magazine's flamboyant Marc St. James -- tells the New York Post, "Oh god, I've been on the verge of tears for a week." And his upcoming final moments with a certain castmate might just send him over the edge.
"It's going to be so hard to film my last scene with Vanessa [Williams], I'm going to be a mess for that."
Urie, 29, went on to tell the Post that "everyone was a little teary" recently, at the cast's second-to-last table read and "We've all started acknowledging 'this is our last this, this is the last time we'll do that.'"
The actor (currently starring off-Broadway in The Temperamentals) confessed he doesn't know how the show will wrap up, but suggested a scenario for how he'd like to see things end. "I would love for Marc to find someone, but what I really want is for Marc and Wilhelmina's relationship to continue professionally. More than anything else, I feel that they belong together at Mode, running things."
Betty's departure isn't just affecting its own actors, though. Christina Applegate -- who starred on ABC's equally beloved but ultimately doomed, Samantha Who? -- tweeted her disappointment about the show's end and its star America Ferrera: "Watching Ugly Betty tonight and just really confused that it has been cancelled! America my friend, you are amazing!"
The final episode of Ugly Betty airs April 14 on ABC.
