"The season 1 finale, that is one of my favorite episodes, the one where Hilda's fiance Santos is shot: it was just so emotional but really funny and Henry (Christopher Gorham) was going away -- so much was changing," recalls Ferrera of the family drama that reached a heightened level when Betty's sister Hilda (Ana Ortiz) loses her fiance Santos (Kevin Alejandro) in a characteristically telenovela kind of way: a shooting while he tried to prevent a robbery.
