Finally! A full three months after giving birth, Uma Thurman and boyfriend Arpad Busson have revealed the name of their baby girl to People. And folks, it's a doozy: Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson. (Yes, for those of you counting, that's seven names!)
Thurman's rep told People that the baby is "known to family and friends as Luna" and that "each name has a special reason and meaning to her mother and father."
With a mom named Uma Karuna (Uma means "light" in Sanskrit), we're hardly surprised this babe has a unique moniker, although the name is certainly a departure from the unique-but-relatively-normal names of Thurman's two children with ex Ethan Hawke: Maya Ray and Levon Roan. But Arpad -- or Arki, as he's apparently known -- seems to be a fan of the multiple middle name trend; both of his children with ex Elle Macpherson have two.
We're not sure where all seven names come from, of course, but Arusha is a Sanskrit name (like Thurman's own) that means red; Arkadina seems related to Arpad's nickname, but it's also a character in the Chekhov play The Seagull. And Florence is a family name on his side. As for Rosalind and Altalune? Those are anyone's guess!
So while this one definitely qualifies as a wacky celebrity baby name, we love the family connections and the vintage, granny-chic feel of Rosalind and Florence. And we wish the little gal well when it comes to kindergarten roll call.
