As if she wasn’t already gorgeous enough, Uma Thurman is now sporting a pregnancy glow.
Thurman, 41, managed to keep her baby bump under wraps at New York Fashion Week earlier this month, but it's now official that she and her beau, financier Arpad Busson, 49, are expecting. The couple began dating in 2007 and this is their first child.
Thurman has two kids from her previous marriage to Ethan Hawke, daughter, Maya, 13, and son, Levon, 10. For those of you playing along at home, that means she'll have two teenagers and a preschooler in the house at the same time (oy!).
In theory the movie star has two built-in babysitters (if the nanny has the day off), but that also means the youngest member of the family will basically be an only child unless Mama is planning on a fourth.
Maya will be heading off to college (and maybe Uma has a premature case of empty-nest syndrome) in a few short years. Levon won’t be far behind, and while the two will surely dote on their new sibling, not too many teens are willing to spend their days playing duck-duck-goose. My brother is seven years younger than I am and it wasn't until we were in our 30s that we got to know each other.
Not to mention that you really do forget how grueling it can be to have a newborn. That's nature's special way of making sure you continue to procreate. After 10 years, I'm going to guess that Thurman has a full-blown case of amnesia.
My daughter was nearly four years old and was completely potty trained when my son was born. Going back to diapers and sleep deprivation was a major shock to my system. I hope Thurman gets as much sleep as humanly possible while she still can.
