Unstoppable
Short Story:
A seasoned train engineer (Denzel Washington) and a rookie conductor (Chris Pine) must stop a runaway freight train full of combustible fluid before it destroys a city.

What They're Saying:
"Finally, we've found the ideal use for Tony Scott's hyperkinetic, headache-inducing film making style: a movie about a runaway train." - Associated Press

"Unmanned freight train's loose. Must be stopped. Veteran train engineer Denzel Washington and newbie Chris Pine are on the job. Questions? I can't believe we wasted even that much time on the plot." - Chicago Tribune

Good For Kids?
Unstoppable is overwrought with explosive action. Perhaps more than the kids can handle.

Morning Glory
Short Story:
Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams) is down on her luck. After being fired from her successful gig as a TV producer, she is forced to take a job at a last-place national morning news show.

Determined to turn things around, Fuller brings in legendary TV anchor Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford). Unfortunately, complications arise when Pomeroy refuses to work with beauty queen-turned-morning personality Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton). Tempers flare, bickering ensues, and along the way, Fuller haplessly falls in love with fellow producer Adam Bennett (Patrick Wilson), which only adds more fuel to an already untamable work environment.

What They're Saying:
"(McAdams's) Adorability Quotient is off the charts. If being ingratiating is a crime, she'd be shot at sunrise. But this good nature doesn't seem forced." - Time magazine

"It includes more than a few clever lines, and boasts a stellar cast, including the underutilized Diane Keaton." - New York Post

Good For Kids?
Kids will get lost in this quirky romantic comedy.

Skyline

Short Story:
After a late night of partying, a group of friends awaken to an inexplicable light force beaming from the sky. They soon discover that the light is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into thin air. When they unearth an extraterrestrial plan to wipe out the human race, the group must band together to save themselves and Earth.

What They're Saying:

"Once the ace special effects and full-on monster mania take prominence over the soap opera plot, it does become weirdly fascinating." - Radio Times

"We get some watchable flurries of hunt-'em-down suspense between the interminable kvetchings of the human prey, but the only salient reason to see this is the creature design, by those HR Giger-inspired wizards Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr." - Daily Telegragh

Good For Kids?
Skyline will leave the children more spooked than entertained.

In case you missed...

For Colored Girls

Short Story:

Tyler Perry brings to life the award-winning play by Ntozake Shange, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf. The film, which features an all-star female cast (including Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Thandie Newton and Kerry Washington), represents a collection of 20 poems, each portraying the life issues encountered by women of color.

What They're Saying:

"Herein lies an invitation for us all to move beyond victimhood ... and, in some cases, simply to get over ourselves." - Time Out New York

"Perry's great gift to this unfilmable play is getting it on the screen, his sharp eye for casting and his evident affection and sympathy for black womanhood, even in movies in which he doesn't don a dress." - Orlando Sentinel

Good For Kids?

Although For Colored Girls is full of enduring life lessons, the issues at hand are much too weighty for children.

Megamind

Short Story:

It's Megamind (Will Ferrell) vs. Metro Man (Brad Pitt) in this battle of the animated super-villains.

What They're Saying:

"Superb 3-D graphics and silly running gags (Megamind routinely mispronounces words such as school) should keep kids amused, while sly political and pop culture references will get laughs from adults." - Us Weekly

"Megamind is less a satire of dastardly deeds than a nimbly spectacular comedy of ego." - Entertainment Weekly

Good For Kids?

The kids will go crazy for this super-comedy.

Due Date

Short Story:

Robert Downy Jr. stars as Peter Highman, an anxious father-to-be forced to hitch a ride with impulsive slacker Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) in a desperate attempt to make it to the birth of his child.

What They're Saying:

"Due Date should be a disaster, derivative of every road-trip movie you've ever seen. What prevents that are the efforts of the two stars." - Arizona Republic

"Due Date is fast, lazy, and out of control in a manner that's basically commendable." - Village Voice

Good For Kids?

With an R-rating, Due Date contains suggestive comedy not suitable for the little ones.
