The Usual Suspects (1995)

If you've never seen this delicious neo-noir film, we envy you the chance to watch it all unfold for the first time. The mystery, packed with fantastic performances (including one that nabbed an Oscar for Kevin Spacey) and incredibly tight plotting (the movie also won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar), opens with a shooting and a ship set on fire. Through an ever-more-complicated story and the introduction of a group of con men (played by Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, Kevin Pollack and Stephen Baldwin), U.S. customs agent Dave Kujan (Chazz Palminteri) tries to ferret out the identity of the mob leader, known as "Keyser Soze," who brought the criminals together. The movie ends with the big reveal, easily one of the most surprising, and satisfying, movie endings ever.
