Vacation in Your Livingroom

I just moved into a new apartment and I’m pleased to say the place has come together beautifully! The finishing touch of my new sanctuary was the finding – and burning – of this delicious Malie Kauai soy candle, $26. The husband-and-wife run company uses only indigenous Hawaiian flora to create their luxe candles. I bought it in “plumeria” (the tropical flower associated with leis) from my favorite home and grooming shop, Mio Mia, in Brooklyn. The candle filled the entire apartment with the sweetest, loveliest fragrance, and for a moment, my New York loft became an island bungalow. Burn one for yourself in exotic summer-time scents like, “coconut-vanilla” or “pikake” (Hawaiian jasmine) and an evening at home might just be one of the best vacations you’ve taken in years.
