For all the brooding Twilight fans out there awaiting New Moon's release in November, Vampire Diaries is the show for you. Things seem pretty dismal for Elena (Nina Dobrev) after the recent death of her parents in a car crash and her discovery that that her younger brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) has developed a drug problem. But life starts to look up for her when she instantly connects with the new boy in town, Stefan (Paul Wesley). But what Elena doesn't know is that Stefan is harboring a big secret -- he's a vampire and deliberately came searching for Elena because she reminds him of a long lost love. Stephan gets an unexpected surprise when his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) surfaces after 15 years and is bent on causing trouble for Stefan, Elena and everyone else in Mystic Falls, Va.
