Worried about exposing your kids to the perils of rock 'n roll -- and yet you dream about getting on the mic to belt out your rendition of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive"?
Never fear, your days of acting like a rock star don't have to end just because you have kids. Even better, you can now happily let your kids in on the fun.
The creators of Rock Band and Lego games have come together to create the best hybrid: Lego Rock Band. The new video game -- available Nov. 3 -- has great new features to make it extra family-friendly.
As most Rock Band fans know, there are four levels -- Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert. Lego Rock Band created a new level, Super Easy. So, for kids just starting out, they don't have to be distracted by the different color buttons. Instead, they just have to strum the guitar or bang on the drums along with the beat. There's also the option of having the kick pedal be automated.
Lego Rock Band also features short versions of songs so you don't have to worry about kids with short attention spans getting cranky or bored when you decide to rock out to the five-minute-long "The Final Countdown" by Europe.
The perks don't end there: Players can't fail songs, except in some of the custom challenges. All songs are unlocked when you start the game, so if you're obsessed with Elton John's "Crocodile Rock," you don't have to wait until you've completed certain levels to it to play it. And only family-friendly songs are allowed. If you download extra songs, only the ones for all ages will show up in this game. Of course, you can still play your hard rock songs on other versions of the game.
Lego Rock Band is being released on Nov. 3 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii consoles. If you ever had dreams of being like The Partridge Family or The Osbournes, definitely pick up Lego Rock Band this holiday season.
