It's no secret that the ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta aren't exactly BFFs. Their forced onscreen friendships are often laced with catfights, backstabbing and high school-style drama. But that's why we love reality TV, right?

Kim Zolciak tells iVillage that her costars are mainly business associates, not buddies, but they've definitely taught her a life lesson. "People aren't always going to be nice to you," she says. "They will talk behind your back."

Somehow the single mom manages to balance all the drama of the show with raising two daughters – and still finds time to date. But unlike some of her friends, she's learned to be very careful about introducing new men to her kids and wants to share her wisdom with other single moms.

"Before you bring all these men around your children, make sure it's someone you can see yourself with in the future," she says. "Make sure you know what direction you're going in because your children are going to think that's acceptable as they get older."

Check out our exclusive video to find out what else Kim has learned from the show – and hear a line from her new song, "Tardy for the Party."
