All Transformers director Michael Bay wanted to do was hype some new technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Monday. Then the teleprompter malfunctioned, and he froze up worse than a third-grader at a spelling bee. Take a look!
Bay was invited to participate in Samsung's presentation about the company's new curved HDTVs. The director known for his high-octane action flicks should have been perfect to extol the benefits of the fancy new devices. Instead, his exchange with the Samsung executive turns out all kinds of awkward. "The type is all off… sorry," Bay says before fleeing the stage.
Later Monday, the director apologized for his mini-meltdown in a post on his website. "Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES," Bay wrote. "I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP's intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down -- then I walked off. I guess live shows aren’t my thing."
