If you're not a big country fan, you might be surprised to learn that you're missing out by not watching the Country Music Association Awards.
Year after year, the CMAs prove more entertaining than nearly any other TV awards show. A lot of this has to do with Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, two reliably funny and charming performers who are perfectly comfortable breaking into song at any moment. (They've hosted the show since 2008.) But the entire show is a little less predictable, and a little more irreverent, than what we're used to seeing on TV. Here are the five most surprising moments of last night's CMAs.
Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood reworked George Strait's classic "Amarillo by Morning" as a duet making fun of Obamacare. And the crowd went wild! (Except Taylor Swift. She looked confused.)
Brad & Carrie wasted no time in calling out Luke Bryan and Zac Brown's feud, getting them to hug -- and then assigning new "feuds" to the superstars in the audience. Note the sly diss of Julianne Hough's Halloween costume!
Taylor Swift got the Pinnacle Award, one of country music's highest and rarest honors -- accompanied by a star-studded tribute that left her speechless. It's definitely the first time that Mick Jagger, Justin Timberlake and Julia Roberts have all shown their faces at the CMAs!
Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert officially became the Beyonce and Jay Z of country music. These two were a big deal before, but after taking home Male & Female Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row, they're the cutest power couple around -- and the unstoppable king and queen of country!
The cast of Duck Dynasty came onstage and twerked while Brad & Carrie sang a parody of "Blurred Lines." CANNOT UNSEE.
