Inspiring, moving, extraordinary, life-changing.
Those are just a few of the words I and so many of my iVillage colleagues have been using to describe what it was like to attend The Women's Conference earlier this week in Long Beach, Calif.
When you get so many amazing, inspirational and powerful women in one room (Maria Shriver, Oprah, Michelle Obama, Diane Sawyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg [both pictured above], Sandra Day O'Connor), something magical happens. We listen to their stories, learn about their triumphs and tribulations, and leave with renewed confidence and energy about making the most of our lives.
iVillage had the pleasure of interviewing several newsmakers and celebrities -- from event host Shriver to Victoria Beckham -- and we asked how this annual gathering that has grown to become the largest women's conference in the world truly empowers women.
"I know [this conference] inspires women because women come and tell me that they changed their lives afterwards," Shriver told us.
Watch -- and be inspired!
