These Kids' Reactions to Healthy Halloween Candy Are About Right

Nori pops and tofu ghostmallows? Now that's scary!

As every trick-or-treater knows, there’s nothing worse than getting a dreaded toothbrush in your plastic pumpkin. Or is there? Turns out, the “healthy treats” being tested on a focus group of cute costumed kids in this funny Crest commercial just might qualify.

As the marketer tells the children, veggie-fruit chews, nori pops, tofu ghost-mallows, artichoke buttercups and healthy cupcakes are the treats replacing candy this Halloween, and the kids’ reactions are hilarious. A sampling:

“This is the most worst I’ve ever tasted.”
“Mine tastes like broccoli – yuck!”
“Mine tasted like poo-poo.”
“It tastes like rotten dough.”
“It tastes like poopy piñata.”
“You’re saying disgusting stuff is good stuff.”
“I threw up.”

With the tagline, “Nothing is more horrifying than Halloween without candy. Thankfully, there’s Crest and Oral-B,” we have to flash a Whitestrip-brightened grin at the toothpaste and toothbrush brands. Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em -- and pass the (non-veggie-flavored) candy, please.
