One minute you’re hanging out at home, eating some toast and beans. The next minute, the ice cream truck is on your street and your whole life becomes one big freak-out.
Selina O’Meara, 35, of Nenagh, Ireland was babysitting her godchild Liam, age 1, and his brother Luke, 7, when she took this short video of snack time. When Liam the toddler takes a tumble, Luke doesn’t notice. But a few seconds later, when Luke recognizes the ice-cream truck song, everything changes. In his mad rush for ice cream, it’s Luke’s turn to wipe out. In just four days, this funny childhood moment has earned 5.1 million views on YouTube.
Selina told iVillage about how it all happened, saying “It was all so simple, three of us sitting there munching on beans on toast and then they started dropping. The chairs are low to the floor and he was unhurt, thank God.”
On their viral video fame, Selina said, “Liam has no clue about the video and Luke is unsure about what’s going on really.” And what did mom think of the video? “Their mother arrived shortly after and I had just looked back at the video. It looked funnier on the screen, and I was a bit unsure about showing her, but she laughed and said 'Sure, they're always falling and banging into things'.”
If you’re wondering, Liam and Luke didn’t get ice cream that day, but Selina ensured us that they did get extra toast and a coconut bar. Next time, lads!
