This Man Wrote a Song to His Late Wife After 75 Years of Marriage (Yes, You'll Cry)

Fred and Lorraine were married for 75 years. After she passed, he wrote her a song and sent it to a recording studio. What happened next will make you cry

Marriage is tough, and sometimes the last person you want to be around is your (consistently-leaving-the-toilet-seat-up) husband.

That is until he’s gone.

This sweet, heartwrenching video shares the story of Fred, a 97-year-old man who was married to the love of his life, Lorraine. He described her as the prettiest girl he’s ever seen and a “little shy, but he didn’t mind.” They met at an A&W, dated for two years and then spent 75 wedded years together. (Read it again: Seventy. Five. Years.) A month after she passed away, he entered a local singing/songwriting competition by mailing in a long letter, detailing their love story.

He didn’t win the competition, but something better happened. Watch -- and try not to cry your eyes out -- below. And next time your hubby doesn’t pick up those Legos the boys left out, forgets the milk and leaves a big ol' mess in the kitchen, give him a break. (At least once, anyway.)
