VOTE: Does Gwyneth Paltrow Have the Pipes to Be a Country Star?

The actress debuts a new music video for her upcoming movie, Country Strong

Last year, Jeff Bridges nabbed the Oscar for his portrayal of an alcoholic country singer in Crazy Heart. Now, it seems Gwyneth Paltrow is trying to recreate that success with her work in the upcoming movie, Country Strong, in which she plays... an alcoholic country musician.

But, before the movie hits theaters (Dec. 22 for limited release and Jan. 7 for wide release), a music video with Paltrow doing some country crooning has been released.

So, does Paltrow have the pipes to make a good country music star? The song certainly has some country-pop twang to it, but she still looks much more movie star than Nashville gal. Watch the full music video (which features her costar, country music hottie Tim McGraw) for "Country Strong" below!

Paltrow, 38, who has sung in movies before (remember Duets?) and is slated to appear on Glee, may have some experience singing, but playing the guitar is a different story. "I mean, it's embarrassing to be playing in front of your husband, especially when he's in one of the world's most successful bands," Paltrow admitted to Harper's Bazaar about learning the instrument from scratch in front of her husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
Embarrassing or not, Paltrow's "Country Strong" hits country music radio airwaves today.
