Why you should see it: Director Oliver Stone, who's made no secret of his opinions on President George W. Bush, unfolds the history of Bush's political career, from his rowdy college days and his rivalry with his father to his days as a good old boy, and eventually governor, in the Texas political arena and, of course, the infamous 2000 election. Stone says the movie will explain how Bush went "from an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world."
Box office bottom line: Sure, W is a drama, but in the hands of Stone, you can be sure that Dubya's more outrageous exploits are going to take center stage. And with all the political campaigning and mudslinging voters have been inundated with in the past year, don't we deserve something a little lighter before we finally reach Election Day?
