Harry Potter fans have already had a sneak peek at the opening scene of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, the final installment in the now decade-long cinematic saga based on J.K. Rowling's worldwide best-selling book series. But now fans can view the official action-packed, chills-inducing trailer that premiered Wednesday night on ABC Family. Watch it below!
The video gives glimpses of fire-breathing dragons and airborne battles, not to mention some of the highly anticipated scenes, including a hefty dose of the climactic Battle of Hogwarts.
We're also treated to a peek at the final standoff between Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and the vile villain Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), which will be more fleshed out than their showdown in the book, including the addition of a chase through Hogwarts and, from the looks of the trailer, a moment when Harry grabs He Who Shall Not Be Named and they go tumbling into an abyss together (pretty sure that wasn't in the book).
There's also a brief glimpse of a scene every true Potterhead is aching to see: Molly Weasley (Julie Walters) and Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter) duking it out in an intense wand-on-wand duel. And there's even young Potter's heartbreaking line from the book, uttered to his friends Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint): "I never wanted any of you to die for me."
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 hits theaters July 15, 10 years after Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone was first released. Will the Boy Who Lived conquer the forces of darkness that have been trying to blot him out oh these many years? Chances are Potterheads already know the answer to that question -- but there's little doubt that come July 15 moviegoers will be lining up in droves to say goodbye to their beloved Harry no matter what.
