WATCH: James Blunt Covers Katy Perry's 'California Gurls'

The British crooner is ready to melt your popsicles with his cover of Perry's summer anthem

James Bunt may be known for his touching love songs, but the "You're Beautiful" singer also has a thing for today's pop hits. Case in point: The smooth-voiced Brit chose to put his own spin on Katy Perry's fun-loving "California Gurls." With his acoustic guitar and some help from his band, Blunt stripped down the girly fun-loving summer anthem and turned it into an slower, smoother tune.

Blunt is currently on the European leg of his tour, promoting his new album, Some Kind of Trouble. He'll bring his voice over to the U.S. on April 20, when he performs at Boston's House of Blues.

No word yet on whether he'll be wearing a cupcake bra and daisy dukes when he performs the Perry cover.
