Kelly Clarkson is starting off the year on a high note. The Grammy winner beautifully belted it out as the first musical guest of 2012 on Saturday Night Live's Jan. 7 episode.

Unlike some musical acts who appear nervous or can't seem to handle the live nature of a Saturday Night Live gig, Clarkson was perfectly in control during her two hit songs, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" and "Mr. Know It All."

"Tonight was fun," she twittered after her performance on the show hosted by former NBA great, Charles Barkley. "But now I'm having a glass of wine with the girls and about to go to bed. Long yet fun day."

In addition to her spot on SNL, Clarkson also popped up in a Toyota Camry commercial that features her and her single "Stronger." And NBC's The Voice announced that Clarkson will join Miranda Lambert as advisers for Blake Shelton's team on the second season of the reality show. Shelton's future contestant will surely take advice from the former American Idol champion.

Next week, Harry Potter himself will host Saturday Night Live for the first time. Hopefully Daniel Radcliffe, who recently finished his run starring in a Broadway musical, will sing as well as act.
